The Future History Mobile Stop Visits Wieluń

The sixth stop on the Future History Mobile Stop tour is Wieluń, a city in the Łódź Voivodeship known for its rich history, picturesque landscapes, and commitment to preserving patriotic values.

The press conference was hosted by Patrycja Resel and attended by notable figures such as Lt. Col. Karol Piskorski, Director of the Łódź Branch of the IPN; Adrianna Paradowska, Director of the New Technology Division; Paweł Okrasa, Mayor of Wieluń; and Jan Książek, Director of the Museum of the Wieluń Region. During the briefing, speakers emphasized the sources from which today’s youth gather knowledge about the world and Polish history, and the need to use language that resonates with them. The event was held with the presence of media and guests of the Mobile Stop.

Teaching history is a multi-stage process. It is a process where not only the goal matters, but especially the methods and forms of achieving it. Poland needs educated young citizens who understand historical processes and can draw from the past and traditions that form our national identity. Therefore, the Institute of National Remembrance, to meet these challenges, had to create new forms of teaching history. This includes the history of the Polish-Soviet War, World War II, and the Polish anti-communist underground,” said Lt. Col. Karol Piskorski.

Three Days of Immersive History Lessons in Wieluń

The residents of Wieluń have been enthusiastically participating in the activities of the Future History Mobile Stop from the very beginning. Over three days, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, the venue will host pre-registered groups as well as walk-in visitors eager to explore. There is no room for boredom, only lively discussions about history, Polish heroes, civic responsibility, and new technologies.

On September 21st, the Future History Mobile Stop will move to Kalisz, where it will stay until September 23rd. Entry is completely free. We warmly invite everyone to join!
