The Future History Mobile Stop has set off across Poland. Its first stop is Stalowa Wola, where the inauguration of the tour will take place.
10 cities across Poland. Time… go!
Throughout September, the The Future History Mobile Stop will visit 10 cities across Poland. From today, September 3rd, until September 5th, it will remain in Stalowa Wola, where the President of the Institute of National Remembrance, Dr. Karol Nawrocki, will lead the official inauguration and a press conference. The first day of the event was marked by excitement, enthusiasm, and interest from both guests and the staff of the Mobile Stop. The weather was fantastic, making it hard to imagine a better start to the tour than in Stalowa Wola.
Immersive history lessons at the Future History Mobile Stop
The Future History Mobile Stop welcomed groups signed up for immersive history lessons. A queue of people interested in the educational projects of the Office of New Technologies and everything modern historical education offers quickly began to form. Visitors who wanted to stay a bit longer, to relax after the intense experiences, or just participate in the life of the Mobile History Stop, happily used the deckchairs available for guests.
Crowds of schoolchildren The start of the school year is the perfect time for schoolchildren to take part in the Mobile “History of the Future” Stop. Immersive historical education sets a positive tone for the whole school year, sparks curiosity, and encourages further learning about Polish history. It’s no surprise that teachers and educators are eagerly signing up their students for more immersive history lessons.
The inauguration of the tour in Stalowa Wola
The inauguration of the Future History Mobile Stop was attended by the director of the Rzeszów branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, Dr. Dariusz Iwaneczko, President of the Institute of National Remembrance, Dr. Karol Nawrocki, the mayor of Stalowa Wola, Lucjusz Nadbereżny, and the director of the New Technology Division, Magdalena Hajduk. During the conference, Dr. Karol Nawrocki highlighted the significance of the location where the inauguration took place: “Stalowa Wola is one of the most important symbols of Poland and Polish people’s thinking that we can manage our independence when there are no wars or totalitarian systems. Stalowa Wola, once in the center of the Second Republic, now more in the southeast, and the city of Gdynia, two creations of Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski, tell us so much about ourselves as a nation ready for hard work, economic effort, and managing our independence.”
Magdalena Hajduk, Director of the New Technology Division, emphasized the need to reach young people through new methods of communication: “New projects and tools were meant to help connect with the new generation, to teach history in a way that resonates more with young people. The task of the Office is to prepare projects using new technologies to maintain dialogue with young people. To increase the effectiveness of this idea, we conducted a survey of young people’s needs and expectations regarding history and education. 77% of respondents said they want to learn history, but through a different form of communication.”
Additionally, the conference addressed the need for the nation’s unity, shaping a shared future, and emphasized the important values brought by the Institute of National Remembrance’s educational projects – shaping civic attitudes, fostering empathy, and teaching history in a modern way.
