The European Night of Museums 2022
“The Cypher Game” presented during the European Night of Museums 2022
Last weekend, The New Technology Division of Institute Of National Remembrance had the opportunity to present its projects for the first time during The European Night of Museums. Thanks to the hospitality of The Warsaw Archives of the Institute of National Remembrance, which once again on this occasion opened its warehouses and workshops to visitors, PC stations with “The Cyphers Game” were made available. During this year’s edition of the ENM under the banner of Shards of Memory… priceless archives, including personal documents and memorabilia belonging to Agnieszka Wisla, a Polish independence activist associated with the Polish Falcons Association in America, and Captain Tadeusz Starzynski, a pre-war National Police officer and one of the Cichociemni – Paratroopers of The Polish Home Army.
The participants had the opportunity to visit the archival warehouse and the records digitization room. You could also play board games. This year we were also present in Cracow, where visitors to The Cracow Archives of the Institute of National Remembrance could play the “The Cyphers Game” on PC and VR.
The stands with “The Cyphers Game” were very popular among the participants of the Museums’ Night. Players of all ages faced Bolshevik cyphers, tried to ensure radio communication and neutralize the feared armored trains. The uniqueness of the game, i.e. its reliance on historical facts, was also appreciated. Once again, the graphics and soundtrack met with high approval.
