The “Cyphers Game” in Piotrków Trybunalski attracted remarkable interest
After a few days of break, the mobile showroom resumed its tour around Poland and on 10 October 2022 was stationed in Piotrków Trybunalski – in front of the Jan Kochanowski University (UJK) branch building on Słowackiego Street. Between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., the exhibition was visited by a large number of pupils and students from Piotrków’s educational institutions: Bolesław Chrobry Secondary School No 1, Juliusz Słowacki Secondary School No 3, Gen. Stefan Rowecki-Grot Secondary School No 4, Senior Secondary School Complex No. 2 and Jan Kochanowski University. There were as many as six organised groups, so from 1 to 4 p.m., practically all the time visitors were waiting to enter and play the “Cyphers Game”.
Expert support was provided by dr Aleksandra Rybińska-Bielecka of the Łódź Branch Office of National Education of the Institute of National Remembrance. In addition, a delegation from the Institute of National Remembrance visited the exhibition and subsequently held a series of meetings with representatives of the local community: Dean of the Piotrków Branch of UJK dr hab. Jacek Bonarek, Marshal Senior Antoni Macierewicz, MP Anna Milczanowska, Deputy Governor of Łódź Karol Młynarczyk, Mayor of Piotrków Krzysztof Chojniak, Commander of the 9th Łódź Territorial Defence Brigade Col. Paweł Wiktorowicz.
At noon, President of the Institute of National Remembrance dr Karol Nawrocki and Director of the New Technology Division Magdalena Hajduk took part in a press conference (TVP3 Łódź, Radio Łódź, Piotrków24, Radio Strefa, TV Piotrków, Dziennik Łódzki), during which they presented the educational gaming project the “Cyphers Game” and encouraged the public to become familiar with the published research report “Immersive history education – towards new educational pathways”.
