The Celebrations in Lipinki Combined Sport, Education and Patriotism

On Saturday, 13 June 2026, Lipinki, a village in the Warlubie municipality, hosted special commemorations marking the 80th anniversary of the clash that took place there in 1946. The central event of the day was the Run in Memory of the Unbroken, which brought together enthusiasts of physical activity and history. The event was organized by the Institute of National Remembrance in cooperation with local authorities and community partners.

Solemn Commemorations of the Battle of Lipinki

The celebrations began with a Holy Mass at the parish church in Lipinki. Participants then moved to the area near the local school, where the Run in Memory of the Unbroken officially started. Competitors took part in two cross-country races, covering distances of 5 and 10 kilometers through the picturesque forests surrounding the village. The sporting competition took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and remembrance of the heroes who took part in the events eighty years ago.

At the same time, a family educational picnic was held alongside the race. Visitors enjoyed historical games and competitions prepared by the Institute of National Remembrance, educational stands, sports activities, and a food zone. One of the most popular attractions was the photo-history competition “Timeline,” which allowed participants to test their knowledge of the recent history of Poland and the region. Guests could also take part in a mobile field game that followed the trail of the events of 1946.

After the race, a concert was held, followed by an award ceremony for the top runners and competition winners. It provided an opportunity to celebrate the athletes’ achievements and thank everyone involved in organizing the event.

New Technologies Zone in Lipinki

The New Technologies Zone, prepared by the New Technology Division of the Institute of National Remembrance, also attracted considerable interest from participants. Visitors had the opportunity to explore the latest forms of historical education and digital storytelling. The zone welcomed both the youngest guests and older participants.

The meetings and presentations held there provided an excellent opportunity to discuss innovative projects developed by the Institute of National Remembrance and the ways in which new media can be used to promote knowledge about the history of Poland.

The most popular attraction was the virtual reality version of the “Cyphers Game.” Visitors put on VR headsets, picked up controllers, and personally faced the challenge of neutralizing a Bolshevik armored train. We congratulate all participants on their courage and thank them for visiting our New Technologies Zone.
