Speech by Magdalena Hajduk, Director of the New Technology Division, at the Greater Poland Congress of National Remembrance in Poznań
On 18-19 June, under the theme “History Speaks Through Generations”, the Greater Poland Congress of National Remembrance took place. The event was held under the Honorary Patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Duda.
Modern Approach to the Past – National Remembrance Congress in Poznań 2024
The event was based on the results of the “Education for Remembrance” research, conducted by the team of Dr. hab. Krzysztof Malicki on behalf of the Institute of National Remembrance. Visitors had access to numerous attractions, including:
- an Educational and New Technology Zone,
- historical debates,
- multimedia exhibitions,
- film screenings,
- thematic workshops.
The mission of the Greater Poland Congress of National Remembrance was to tell the story of Poland’s recent history in a way that resonates with all generations – both those who remember the 20th century and the youth learning through new technologies.
Speech by Magdalena Hajduk, Director of the New Technology Division, at the Greater Poland Congress of National Remembrance
During her speech, Director Magdalena Hajduk presented the scope of activities of the New Technology Division, a report titled “Immersive Historical Education – Towards New Educational Paths”, outlined the challenges faced by today’s schools, and showcased effective solutions for reaching young people with historical education.
The discussion panel following the presentation included participants such as Prof. Danuta Konieczka-Śliwińska from the Adam Mickiewicz University, Prof. Krzysztof Malicki from the University of Rzeszów, Małgorzata Rogal-Dropińska, and Dr. hab. Rafał Reczek. The entire session was titled “Education for Remembrance”.
New Technologies Zone at the Greater Poland Congress of National Remembrance
The New Technologies Zone was open to all visitors. It featured educational games and applications developed by the New Technology Division of the Institute of National Remembrance, designed for both computers and VR (Virtual Reality) devices.
In the New Technologies Zone, the mission of telling history in a modern way was realized. Thanks to the immersive educational projects of the Institute of National Remembrance, guests of all ages could embark on a journey through Poland’s recent history and learn through play.
