Presentation of the New Technology Division projects at the Juvenile Detention Center and Shelter in Konstantynów Łódzki
On Monday, June 18, a presentation of the New Technologies Division projects using a mobile box took place at the Juvenile Detention Center and Shelter in Konstantynów Łódzki. The presentation aimed to interest young people in history and new technologies.
“Difficult” youth participated in educational projects of the Institute of National Remembrance
Institutions characterized as educational centers are associated with so-called difficult youth, seemingly uninterested in historical education and enhancing digital skills. However, as it turned out from the visit of the New Technologies Office employees to one of such centers in Łódź, this is a myth worth debunking. The youth encountered at the center were keenly interested in learning history through the latest technologies. During the immersive lesson, questions deepening the knowledge acquired from educational projects were asked, and the projects themselves sparked excitement among both the residents and the educators.
The youth most willingly chose the “Aviators” game in the VR version. The visible interest in the functioning of the virtual reality set translated into great interest in the games operating in this technology. Many questions about the detailed principles of this technology were asked. The curiosity of the youth about the world is undeniable.
Mobile Box stimulating the imagination of youth and adults
The mobile box with immersive historical education is an authentic element of military equipment – it was once used to transport ammunition. Its appearance and construction elicited admiration from the viewers, often leading to speculations about what such a box might remember.
This example shows how the way educational projects are presented affects their reception. Immersion is not just about participating in the project; the way it is presented is also important. The mobile box stimulating the imagination is ideal for this, inviting viewers to get acquainted with the presented projects at an early stage of the presentation.
Continuing immersive history lessons at the juvenile Detention Center and Shelter in Konstantynów Łódzki
The youth spent an interesting and beneficial time with the box and the New Technologies Division educational projects. Interested in the latest history of Poland (especially the fate of Polish pilots participating in World War II battles), they expressed a desire to continue learning history.
The New Technologies Division is eager to visit the Juvenile Detention Center and Shelter in Konstantynów Łódzki again and once again thanks the management and the residents for the warm welcome.
