Presentation of the “Cypher Game” at the World Copernican Congress
During the three-day proceedings of the World Copernican Congress (19-21 February), the New Technology Division of the Institute of National Remembrance presented a mobile showroom.
On 19 February, Polish Science Day was celebrated for the fourth time, and it was also the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus. This year, that date was celebrated exceptionally solemnly: at the congress organised under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the authorities of the Copernican Academy were constituted – an international institution composed of half Polish and half foreign scholars based on the five pillars of science: astronomy, economics, law, medicine, philosophy and theology. The Academy will support Polish science and promote our achievements in the international community of scientists at the same time.
The sessions with the participation of several hundred scientists and accompanying events were held in several places – the mobile exhibition of the Institute of National Remembrance was presented in the period from 19 to 21 February, in the immediate vicinity of the Mill of Knowledge Modernity Center, which is one of the attractions of the “COPERNICAN Picnic” ( 19-20 February), next to the temporary exhibition “Apollo 11”, the workshop “Laboratory of the Future”, the project “Innovative History”, the mobile planetarium of the Copernicus Science Center and the mobile exhibition “Naukobus”. The VR and PC stations with educational projects the “Cypher Game” and “Glider ’87” were available to the visitors. There was above-average interest in the stand of the New Technology Division of the Institute of National Remembrance, as evidenced by the long queues of people willing to immerse themselves in the scenery of the Polish-Bolshevik war of 1920 and those interested in the application presenting the secret print shop of Fighting Solidarity in virtual reality – “Glider ’87”. In such a symbolic way, together with other institutions, we celebrated Polish Science Day.
