Presentation of “Cyphers Game” in Gdańsk
It is no coincidence that the mobile showroom was stationed in Gdańsk in front of Multikino at Al. Zwycięstwa on 20 October 2022. During the presentation of “Cyphers Game”, the Gdańsk Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) organised an educational meeting “Poles in the Free City of Gdańsk” for students of schools in Trójmieście. The meeting took place in Multikino and was attended by dr Karol Nawrocki, President of the Institute of National Remembrance, who emphasised that the mission of IPN is to describe history using not only documents and books but also new technologies.
As usual, our mobile showroom was open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and hosted groups of students from the John Paul II Secondary School No. 3 in Elbląg, the Lokomotywa Non-Public Primary School in Sopot, the United Europe Secondary School No. 15 in Gdańsk and the CONRADINUM School of Shipbuilding and General Education in Gdańsk. To make things more interesting, Artur Chomicz from the Gdańsk Branch of the National Education Office talked about the Polish-Bolshevik War. Next to the “Cyphers Game” showroom, there was an educational tent of the Gdańsk Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, where students could receive educational materials published by the IPN Publishing House and bags with the logo of “KS Gedania” – the first Polish sports club.
Both the meeting in the cinema and the presentation of “Cyphers Game” were attended by the representatives of the local community, e.g., Gdańsk councillors, Prof. Grzegorz Berendt – Director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk, Col Andrzej Płocha – Chief of the Provincial Military Staff in Gdańsk, and Brig Wojciech Berent – Deputy Chief of the Pomeranian Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service.
