New Technology Division of IPN at the Polish school in Greece

From June 5 to 8, the New Technology Division showcased its portfolio at the Polish school in Athens. A dedicated New Technology Zone was set up, featuring PC and VR stations, complemented by lectures and competitions. The visit was organized in collaboration with the IPN’s History Stops Division.

Immersive history lessons, education with cutting-edge technology, lectures, and much more. The activities made use of all the educational games and applications developed by the New Technology Division of IPN. Students had a unique opportunity to don VR goggles, pick up controllers, and embark on an educational journey through modern Polish history.

The game “Aviators – War in the Skies” proved to be the most popular, with the VR version sparking particular enthusiasm. Students preferred the Polish language version, but for those interested, the language could be switched – the game has been translated into 11 languages, offering a wide range of options.

Meeting with principal Adrianna Paradowska and school authorities

Principal Adrianna Paradowska met with school authorities and teachers. The discussion covered Polish education in the international arena, highlighted the findings of IPN’s research reports, and presented the immersive education offerings of the New Technology Division of IPN.

Combining different forms of learning

Thanks to the efforts of the IPN’s History Stops Division, it was possible to integrate various forms of historical education. Students experienced traditional lectures, modern learning methods using computers and virtual reality, competitions, lectures, and immersive history lessons. These activities kept students engaged and effectively conveyed historical knowledge.

A diversified educational approach, combining traditional learning with modern technologies, reduces technological barriers, enhances digital competencies, and ensures effective and efficient learning.

Immersive historical education worldwide

The presentation in Athens combined entertainment and education to engage young people with modern Polish history and encourage independent exploration of the subject. Utilizing modern technologies helps students better understand past events, fostering historical awareness and bringing them closer to the realities that shaped their parents and grandparents.

Educational projects from the New Technology Division of IPN are gaining interest worldwide – in Greece, the Czech Republic, Iceland, Germany, Asia, the UK, and Poland. They captivate not only teachers and parents but, most importantly, the youth. The games and applications aimed at young people fulfill their purpose – educating, inspiring imagination, fostering civic attitudes, and demonstrating that technology is not only for entertainment but also for learning.

We are proud that our young people living abroad actively participate in modern historical education. Thanks to the efforts of the Institute of National Remembrance, it is possible to nurture national identity and shape civic attitudes.
