Mobile exhibition with the “Cyphers Game” in Jędrzejów
On 12 October, the mobile showroom was parked in the car park at the Jędrzejów Community Centre. As usual, we were active from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and were visited, among others, by pupils from the Commission of National Education Primary School No. 2 in Jędrzejów, Primary School No. 4 in Jędrzejów and Primary School No. 5 in Jędrzejów.
Jędrzejów is famous above all for its oldest Cistercian abbey in Poland, and also the place where blessed Wincenty Kadłubek stayed and died in 1223. However, on Tadeusz Kościuszko Square, there is another remarkable site: the Przypkowski Family Museum, housing one of the world’s largest collections of hundreds of sundials and gnomonic instruments, various hourglasses, candle clocks and mechanical clocks, as well as astronomical instruments. Devices for measuring the passing of time and discovering unseen worlds have a lot in common with encryption machines and modern inventions that enable virtual recognition of the past! What they have in common is a passion for discovery and exploration.
At our exhibition, Jakub Mularczyk, an educator from the Branch Office of Historical Education of the Kielce Sub-Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance provided expert assistance.
Come and visit our mobile showroom and experience the “Cyphers Game” in your neighbourhood!
