In addition to attractions available outside Museum Night—such as the permanent exhibition, the display “April Battles of the Vilnius Brigades. Białystok Region 1946,” and the virtual shooting range—the museum also offered activities prepared especially for the occasion.
At 2:00 PM, the field game “Partisans” began. Later, visitors were invited to explore an exhibition of a modern prison cell prepared by the Correctional Facility in Przytuły Stare. Guests had the opportunity to see the conditions in which prisoners live, while officers from the nearby correctional facility shared insights into daily prison life.
In the evening, the museum costume competition “Princesses, Knights, and Mummies” got underway, followed immediately by film screenings.
Mobile Chests as a Museum Night Attraction
Mobile chests with immersive historical education are computer sets built into authentic military transport crates. Each set is additionally equipped with VR (virtual reality) headsets.
On that single day alone, more than 100 visitors used the crates. The most popular project from the Institute of National Remembrance’s of New Technology Division portfolio was “Cyphers Game.” In the game, players uncover the deepest secrets of intelligence operations, break Bolshevik codes, and undertake the mission of neutralizing an armored train. The game is available for free download on the Steam platform.
Alongside “Cyphers Game,” the VR version of “Aviators – War in the Skies” also proved highly popular. In this game, players defend the skies over Europe and explore the hangar of aviators who took part in World War II. The game is available for free download on the Steam platform.
