Mobile chests as part of the 15th Anniversary of the Elementary School in Ząbki

On April 25, 2025, the elementary school No. 3 in Ząbki, named after the Little Insurgent, celebrated its 15th anniversary. This event provided an opportunity to reflect on the school’s achievements, foster community integration, and showcase modern educational methods.

A variety of attractions for all

The celebration brought together school representatives, the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), school partners, parents, and students. The official part of the event included speeches, presentations, and performances by students inspired by the school’s patron, the Little Insurgent.

The event featured a meeting with Warsaw Uprising veterans, Janusz Maksymowicz and Zbigniew Daab. The veterans shared their experiences, answered questions from students and teachers, and offered insights into current events. Their involvement in historical events and interest in the present served as a model of patriotism for the youth, enhancing their historical awareness.

The anniversary highlighted the school’s mission as a place that bridges tradition and innovation, fostering courage, responsibility, and civic engagement among its students.

The Institute of National Remembrance Engaged in School Celebrations

The IPN played an active role in the celebration. The IPN’s History Points Division organized prize-winning competitions, educational workshops, and provided logistical support for the event. Students enthusiastically engaged with the IPN’s projects—curiosity and the allure of prizes motivated them to solve historical puzzles, write extended responses, and create innovative solutions to assigned topics.

Mobile chests with immersive historical education featured in the event

As part of the celebration, immersive history lessons and a field game were organized, with sessions using mobile kits as prizes. From April 22 to 25, approximately 300 students participated in these activities. Students focused on two gaming projects: “Aviators” and “Warsaw Rising.”

“Aviators” is a first-person adventure game in which players assume the roles of WWII aerial combat heroes. “Warsaw Rising” is a strategic game where players take on the role of a commander leading a team of insurgents during the Warsaw Uprising.

The games bring the themes of the Warsaw Uprising into the broader context of WWII, stimulating imagination and fostering causal reasoning. The immersive atmosphere created by the mobile kits enables deeper engagement with the depicted events.
