The 17th edition of the Summer School of Recent History, organized by the Institute of National Remembrance, took place in Palczew between 5 and 9 September 2023. This year’s event attracted many participants from all over Poland and abroad. They had an opportunity to take part in inspiring lectures and workshops on the results of the latest historical research.
One of the items on the agenda of this year’s Summer School of Recent History was a lecture entitled “Immersive historical education”. It was delivered by Magdalena Hajduk, Head of the New Technology Division of the Institute of National Remembrance, to widen the participants’ knowledge of modern methods of teaching history.
During the presentation, Director Hajduk focused on how new technologies could be used in the process of historical education. She drew attention to the importance of immersive educational experience that allowed students to immerse themselves in historical realities and personally “experience” past events. She presented examples of interactive applications and games, demonstrating how technology could support teachers in creating fascinating history lessons.
