Immersive history lessons at the IPN Branch in Gdansk
From 4 to 14 March, the IPN Branch in Gdańsk hosted history lessons, where the basic tool was mobile boxes with immersive historical education. Young people participated in activities using educational projects of the Office of New Technologies of the Institute of National Remembrance, such as “Aviators”, “Cipher Game” or “Testimony of Power”. Engaging in learning through a well-known digital environment has convinced young people that learning can be fun. The vast majority of students expressed their willingness to continue this type of activity at school.
Mobile boxes in Gdansk
Mobile boxes with immersive historical education make it possible to present all the projects of the New Technologies Division completed so far, including those created in VR technology. Mobile boxes are powerful PCs with VR goggles, enclosed in real military boxes. Such a form arouses curiosity and additionally encourages to explore the digital space.
The New Technologies Division consistently pursues the mission of supporting modern methods in teaching, also by providing teachers with lesson plans on its website. With new tools and teaching aids that are easily accessible and easy to use, teachers can enrich the teaching process and activate students to participate in activities dedicated to discovering our glorious past.
