Immersive History Lessons at Primary School No. 2 in Słubice

On 9–10 December, immersive history lessons were held at Tadeusz Kościuszko Primary School No. 2 in Słubice, organised with the support of the New Technology Division of the Institute of National Remembrance. A New Technology Zone was set up in the school building, where teachers and students could take part in educational games and applications—both on PC and in VR.

Combining Different Forms of Learning

Through the immersive history lessons, students experienced modern forms of learning that used computers and virtual reality, participated in competitions and lectures, and solved quizzes to test the knowledge they had acquired.

Alongside the activities conducted in the New Technology Zone, students also took part in traditional lessons based on textbooks and exercises. This innovative combination resulted in sustained interest, no sense of fatigue from learning, and genuine satisfaction from discovering the achievements of Polish heroes. We can see that a diversified educational approach—combining traditional learning with modern technologies—helps overcome technological barriers, enhances digital competences, and teaches effectively and efficiently.

The New Technology Zone in Słubice

The New Technology Zone organised by the IPN was equipped with PC and VR stations. All visitors had the opportunity to learn more about immersive historical education and see for themselves how effective learning through games and applications can be. It is encouraging that not only students were eager to visit the New Technology Zone—teachers and parents also took part.
