Immersive education in Iceland
Mobile cases for immersive historical education are traveling around the world, and this time, in collaboration with the History Stops Division of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), one of these cases visited Iceland. On January 17 and 18, educational workshops were held in Reykjavik for students from the Polish School of John Paul II and the Polish School of Janusz Korczak.
Educational workshops using the mobile case for immersive historical education in Reykjavik
A total of 70 students participated in immersive history lessons. The youth learned more about the achievements of Polish aviators who took part in battles and missions during World War II. They also explored the topics of the Warsaw Uprising and the Polish-Soviet War.
All educational games developed by the New Technology Division of IPN were used during the workshops. Thanks to the mobile cases, immersive history lessons can be conducted anywhere in the world. This is an ideal way to educate young people not only in Poland but globally. It fosters their sensitivity and empathy while effectively promoting knowledge of Poland’s recent history.
Immersive historical education around the world
This is not the first international journey of the mobile cases. Last March, the cases visited Zaolzie in the Czech Republic, and in October, they traveled to Luxembourg and Belgium, where the “Aviators” module captured the hearts of students.
We are delighted that Polish youth living far beyond the country’s borders are actively engaging in modern historical education. Thanks to the efforts of the Institute of National Remembrance, it is possible to cultivate our national identity even in emigration.
