Future History Mobile Stop already in Gdańsk!
On 12 June at 10 a.m. in Gdańsk, on the premises of the University of Gdańsk, next to the Faculty of History, the opening of the Future History Mobile Stop took place. The guests were welcomed by the host of the venue, Dean of the Faculty of History of the University of Gdańsk, Arkadiusz Janicki, PhD, Professor of the university. In a few words, he mentioned the successful cooperation with the Gdańsk branch of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), especially thanks to the 2021 cooperation agreement between the Institute of National Remembrance and the University of Gdańsk. He thanked the director of the Gdańsk Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, Dr Paweł Piotr Warot, for the opportunity to present IPN projects in such a modern way.
Magdalena Hajduk, director of the IPN’s New Technology Division, then took the floor. She began by explaining that the direction of the activities of the New Technology Division, such as the implementation of the Future History Mobile Stop, was determined by the results of research compiled in the IPN report “Immersive historical education – towards new educational paths”. She also talked about gaming projects: ,’Cyphers Game’ and ,’Glider ’87’. She invited everyone from Gdańsk and the surrounding area to visit the Future History Mobile Stop in Gdańsk.
The last to speak was the director of the Gdańsk branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, Dr Paweł Piotr Warot. He talked about how diverse the activities of the IPN are, pointing out that IPN has the largest publishing house in Poland, which releases new publications almost every day. Aware that books are not everything, Director Wawrot emphasised that IPN wants to present history in different ways, because history never ends.
The first to use the History Mobile Stop in Gdańsk were pupils from Primary School No. 57 in Gdańsk, who with great commitment completed the successive missions of the “Cyphers Game”.

Admission to the Future History Mobile Stop is free, once you have signed up for a visit. In order to make a compulsory entry reservation, it is necessary to fill in the form available on the website and read and accept the terms and conditions for using the VR goggles. Minors should bring the written consent of a parent or legal guardian.
