Discussion on immersive historical education
Join us for a discussion on new technologies in education, featuring prominent experts, enthusiasts and professionals representing various institutions. Magdalena Hajduk, the director of the New Technology Division of the Institute of National Remembrance, sheds light on the origins of the specialised office and talks about the “Cyphers Game” and educational projects for teachers. During the discussion, the following speakers: Prof. Marlena Plebańska (University of Warsaw), Prof. Jan Pomorski (Maria Curie-Sklodowska University), Prof. Rafał Wiśniewski (National Centre for Culture), Director Krzysztof Zieliński (University Catholic Secondary School in Tczew), Monika Trocka (GovTech), Andrzej Horoch (ConnectedRealities.eu) reflect on the educational challenges brought by the technological revolution, the opportunities and threats, and the issue of teaching methodology. The impact of new technologies on younger generations must lead to adequate changes in the education system, primarily to effectively support teachers. The discussion raises important questions about the validity of the revealing fear regarding the consequences of rapid technological development, and about the relevance of the history curriculum.
The discussion entitled “Immersive Historical Education – Towards New Educational Paths,” moderated by Marcin Wikło, took place on the first day of the Congress of National Remembrance (13-15 April 2023) at the PGE Narodowy Stadium in Warsaw.
The content is available in video format on the Institute of National Remembrance’s TV platform and in audio format on the “Najnowsza historia, najnowsze technologie” channel on Spotify.
