Director Magdalena Hajduk – Guest of the Day on Radio Gdańsk
On 8 May 2023, Magdalena Hajduk, Director of the New Technology Division of the Institute of National Remembrance, was interviewed on Radio Gdańsk as part of the programme “Guest of the Day”. The interview was devoted to the activities of the New Technology Division and the educational challenges arising from the technological revolution. The Institute of National Remembrance is adapting its educational portfolio to the expectations of young people who, as Director M. Hajduk said, “are interested in learning history but through immersive projects”. After two years of existence, the New Technology Division can boast many achievements: not only its educational game but also its first hackathon – a history marathon – and the latest launch of the “Digital Heroes” project. A series of programmes about new technologies will soon be presented on Radio Gdańsk, dedicated to teachers.
When incorporating new technologies into education, one must not forget about the dangers caused by, among other things, unverified activities of artificial intelligence and the disruption of the borders between the real world and the virtual one. M. Hajduk stressed that educational projects need to be based on real, verified information. The New Technology Division will work closely with other expert offices of the Institute of National Remembrance, abiding by the principle that projects implemented should be based on documents and scientific achievements accumulated by the Institute. “The projects of the New Technology Division are an excellent combination of history and new technologies based on petabytes of data stored in the records of the Institute of National Remembrance,” she pointed out.
