“Cyphers Game” (Gra szyfrów) at the International Festival of Comics and Games in Łódź

The International Festival of Comics and Games will take place on 24-25 September 2022, from 9 a.m., at the Atlas Arena in Łódź for the thirty-third time. The festival is primarily a meeting place for authors and lovers of sequencing picture stories and electronic interactive media. The event will attract not only fans of games but also many experts.

During the festival, the “Cyphers Game” will also be presented, the author and originator of which is the Office of New Technologies of the Institute of National Remembrance. In the games zone, at the VR and PC stand, it will be possible to play the role of the cryptologists who broke the cyphers during the Polish-Bolshevik war.

The purpose of the “Cyphers Game” project is to show the history in the most accessible form, i.e. using new technologies, which are undoubtedly computer games. The essence of innovation of the project is the fact that the historical plot is not a background for the game, as it is the case in other productions of that type, but plays a leading role and the game complements the whole story. The game combines point and click adventure elements with logic puzzles. There are three missions undertaken in three different locations but closely related to each other. The goal is to defeat the enemy by breaking the cyphers and using intercepted secret information.
