A conference titled “September 1, 1939, on the Border. The event featured a mobile chest with immersive historical education and was aimed at school students, teachers, and parents.
Mobile chest presented at the museum in Praszka
Praszka, a town located near the Polish-German border, was impacted by military actions early in the morning on September 1, 1939. The location of the conference was thus chosen deliberately. The speakers included Fr. Dr. Paweł Kostrzewski, Dr. Zdzisław Włodarczyk, Mirosław Leśniewski, Angelika Tokarska, and Dr. Ksawery Jasiak. The lectures primarily focused on the wartime fate of the town and its local community, but there was also a broader perspective on Poland’s history during this period.
At the educational and multimedia stand of the IPN Delegation in Opole, a mobile chest with immersive historical education was presented. The most popular attraction among the attendees was the educational game “Aviators – War in the Skies,” which depicted the fate of Polish aviation personnel defending the skies over Europe. Approximately 100 guests made use of the mobile chest.
By combining educational lectures, the museum’s offerings, and immersive historical education, conference participants deepened their historical knowledge in an engaging and non-monotonous way, engaging all their senses. This multisensory approach to learning and the blending of the digital and analog worlds allows for a deeper understanding of history and enriches the learning process.
