Adrianna Paradowska, Deputy Director of the New Technology Division, was invited to participate in the conference. During the event, Director Paradowska took part in a discussion panel and gave a presentation titled “Immersive solutions in museology.”
Discussion panel
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Hab. Hadrian Ciechanowski, assistant professor at the Department of Methodology, Didactics, and Cultural History at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. Other participants included Anna Sokół and Aldona Warzecha from the State Archives in Krakow, and Marek Krzykała from the State Archives in Lublin. The discussion focused on the use of modern solutions in museum exhibitions to influence the audience’s perception.
As a conclusion, it was clarified that modern solutions for engaging audiences do not necessarily have to be digital, but they must be interesting and evoke curiosity to maintain the audience’s attention throughout the exhibition. While digital solutions are not mandatory, they are particularly effective in capturing attention and enhancing the experience by offering the exhibition another opportunity to impact viewers.

During her presentation, Director Paradowska highlighted the potential of digitally presenting historical artifacts through digitization and making them accessible online. This allows for the wide presentation of artifacts, regardless of the viewer’s location. Additionally, she discussed the merging of the digital and analog worlds. An example of this was the New Technology Division’s exhibition “Testimony of Assistance,” where attendees first participated in a VR (Virtual Reality) film experience and then viewed an analog exhibition featuring photos and biographical materials. The exhibition focused on the heroic story of the Blessed Ulma Family, who sheltered Jews during World War II.
At the end of the presentation, the advantages and challenges of multimedia solutions were discussed. On the one hand, they offer the possibility of presenting history in an engaging and appealing way to all generations. On the other hand, these solutions are prone to technical malfunctions, and creators of exhibitions may lack expertise in the consumer electronics market.
Director Paradowska’s lecture sparked further discussion and exchange of insights.

During this time, many important topics were addressed, including artifact archiving, the availability of historical materials, and the search for new ways to reach audiences. It is worth emphasizing the open nature of the meetings and the opportunity for free participation in the conference.
