An etude about the fate of the Ulma family “Świadectwo poMOCY” is available on the YouTube channel of the Institute of National Remembrance!
The project dedicated to the fate of the beatified Ulma family, “Świadectwo poMOCY” [Testament of help/power] (“pomocy” (Gen.) in Polish means “help” and “mocy” (Gen.) means “power”), is now available to the general public also in 360-degree (3D) format on the IPN TV channel on YouTube.
This deeply moving, immersive etude, told through the eyes of 6-year-old Basia Ulma, reminds us of the heroic attitude of the Ulma family during World War II. This is an important testimony of Polish history, emphasising the incredible courage of those who risked their lives to help others. The project was based on the sources of the Institute of National Remembrance, photographs from Mateusz Szpytma’s album entitled “Sprawiedliwi i ich świat. Markowa w fotografii Józefa Ulmy” [“The Righteous and Their World. Markowa in the Photographs of Józef Ulma”].
The version of the etude for people who do not have a VR headset can be viewed on the official YouTube channel of the Institute of National Remembrance at this link.
Enthusiasts of new technologies can see an immersive version of the etude in VR technology, thanks to a computer-generated three-dimensional world that can be viewed in 360 degrees. “Świadectwo poMOCY” is available for free on Steam.
Additionally, it is worth emphasising the educational value of this project, which will soon be published on the Integrated Educational Platform, where educators and teachers will be able to conduct immersive classes based on lesson plans. Now everyone can test their knowledge in a specially prepared quiz.
