A mobile showroom with the “Cyphers Game” and other attractions in Iłża

Our route with the presentation of the educational game included Iłża, or to be more precise: the car park near the Iłża River Port on the Iłżanka River, where we were active on 13 October from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The highlight of the day was the young people who came, among others, from the local Marshal Józef Piłsudski Primary School and the M. Copernicus Secondary School. Artur Cieślik from the Branch Office of National Education at the Radom Sub-Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance told each group of students about the course of the Polish-Bolshevik War.

At 10 a.m., opening the presentation, the President of the Institute of National Remembrance dr Karol Nawrocki, having referred to the National Education Day to be celebrated the following day, presented the achievements and activities undertaken by the Institute of National Remembrance to pass on historical knowledge using the latest tools and techniques. Among the visitors – in addition to school principals, teachers with their students as well as the students of the University of the Third Age – were MPs from the Radom region, representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, local authorities, cultural institutions, the army, Territorial Defence Force, and the ZHR and ZHP scouting organisations.

Owing to the efforts of Danuta Pawlik, Head of the Radom Sub-Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance, an additional highlight was the display of the Grójec Centre for Recognition and Support of Radar and Electronic Warfare named after Brig. Gen. Jan Kowalewski and the 6th Mazovian Brigade of Territorial Defence named after Cavalry Captain Witold Pilecki. Students were able to see exhibits of weapons and uniforms. Of great interest was the Army stand where everyone could try their hand at shooting the Mod. 96 Beryl carbine in complete safety. This carbine contained no ammunition but was equipped with a sight connected to a ballistic computer on which the accuracy of the shot was checked.
