Science picnic in bydgoszcz – learning outdoors

On Saturday, August 16, 2025, the Rejewski Picnic will take place on Mill Island in Bydgoszcz – a free, open-to-all educational event.

To celebrate the 120th anniversary of the birth of Marian Rejewski – a brilliant cryptologist from Bydgoszcz – we invite all visitors on a journey through the world of ciphers, history, and modern technology. You’ll have the chance to take part in Cyphers Game – a video game that tells the story of Polish cryptologists during the Polish-Soviet War. Become a hero of the Polish radio intelligence and break the Bolshevik codes.

Frontline stories in porąbka – a direct meeting with the past

In picturesque Porąbka, from August 22 to 24, Frontline Stories will take place – a unique combination of historical reenactments, lectures, and workshops. The IPN new technology division will showcase projects that transport participants to the realities of World War II and post-war Polish history.

The event is co-financed by the Ministry of National Defense. A wealth of attractions awaits: battle reenactments and virtual battle maps, interactive presentations and lectures, as well as educational games and exhibitions.

The IPN New Technology Division will present its portfolio of educational games and applications – both for PC and VR (virtual reality). All participants will have the chance to dive into immersive historical education and see how effective learning through games and applications can be. Combining historical reenactments with IPN educational games is the perfect way to discover history from different angles, eliminating boredom and monotony.

Pax west in Seattle – polish history on the world gaming stage

One of the most important highlights in our calendar is PAX WEST in Seattle – the largest gaming event on the U.S. West Coast and one of the biggest in the world. It takes place from September 29 to October 1. The event gathers gamers, developers, cultural and science promoters, as well as many industry journalists and representatives of top companies such as Microsoft, Valve, Amazon, and Nintendo. PAX West features discussion panels, new game showcases, tournaments, music performances, and much more. The Polish booth is organized by the Creative Industries Development Center in cooperation with the Indie Games Polska Foundation.

Participating in this prestigious event is a fantastic opportunity to broaden historical awareness among the international gaming community. It’s a unique chance to present the latest educational game by the IPN New Technology Division – Aviators – and prove that games can be more than entertainment; they can be powerful educational tools.

Through Aviators, players will learn about Poland’s fate during World War II and get to know the Polish heroes who fought for freedom across Europe. The game not only educates but also encourages reflection on the difficult moments of history, fostering empathy and understanding for the complex destinies of nations. At the same time, it delivers engaging gameplay and a truly enjoyable experience.

Bielsko-biała gaming festival – passion and history

The Bielsko-Biała Gaming Festival, held from September 5 to 7, is dedicated to fans of video games, board games, and modern technology. Our participation is a great chance to reach young audiences and show them that history can be the subject of immersive gaming experiences.

Visitors will find the IPN new technology zone, where they can experience our PC and VR projects. All games and applications developed by the IPN new technology division focus on effectively presenting modern Polish history. They foster civic attitudes, empathy, and curiosity. Here, learning meets entertainment. We invite all festival participants!

CD-Action Expo in Łódź – pop culture and knowledge

Finally, we’ll be at the CD Action Expo in Łódź – a celebration for gamers, pop culture enthusiasts, and tech lovers, scheduled for the weekend of September 6–7. It’s a space where creators, gamers, YouTubers, and digital world fans come together.

Educational games, films, and apps – both for PC and VR – will all be available in the IPN new technology zone. Learning history through new technologies is effective and truly engaging. We invite all geeks, gamers, and casual visitors. Join us at CD Action Expo in Łódź!
